The body is made from a PEFC certified natural beech wood with a black coating. This Italian handmade pepper mill has the trademark TreSpade conical grinding mechanism made of special tempered steel providing a high-performance grind.  The steel shaft which runs through the centre of the mill is made from an anti-rust steel ensuring it stays pristine from the day you get it.
